TMJ Specialist Dr. Adam Nischwitz

Temporomandibular Joint Disorders more commonly called TMJ syndrome can cause joint and muscle pain in your Jaw. If you are suffering come see Dr. Adam to seek treatment. Dr. Nischwitz at Cobalt Dental is a TMJ Specialist.

TMJ syndrome is where an issue in the jaw muscles and often nerves caused by past injury and sometimes simple inflammation in the temporomandibular joint which connects your jawbone to your skull. The most common symptom is pain while chewing. Often this is accompanied by clicking, crackling, or popping of the jaw. This leads to increased swelling which can be visible on the sides of your face. Inflammation can increase this discomfort if not treated. You may have symptoms such as headaches, including migraines. Tooth grinding a common issue can at times cause dislocation of the temporomandibular joint causing pain.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms or pain Cobalt Dental Care urges you to come see us for a TMJ Evaluation.
