At Cobalt Dental Care our goal is to bring complete wellness to your life by keeping your smile as healthy as possible. This means regular dental exams, dental hygiene visits, and so much more. By offering complete general, restorative, and cosmetic dental care and using the latest technology, we make sure that our patients get the tailored treatment plans that lead to successful care and smiles that exceed expectations.

Restorative Dentistry

Most patients will need some form of restorative dentistry at some point in their lives Whether you have a small cavity and need a simple tooth-colored filling, or you’ve lost teeth and need tooth replacement like dental implants, Cobalt Dental Care offers these and a variety of other rehabilitative dental treatments, and there’s no need to avoid much-needed care out of embarrassment. We simply want patients that visit our Louisville, KY dental office to experience the most complete care and healthiest smiles possible.

Our restorative dentistry includes various modern treatments that not only offer natural-looking and attractive results, but are convenient and time saving as well. These treatments include:

  • Tooth–Colored Fillings
  • CEREC One–Visit Crowns
  • Dentures and Partials
  • Root Canal Therapy
  • Dental Implants

We can use these restorative dentistry treatments to save your smile from damaged caused by decay, disease, or injury. If you develop a tooth infection, we can prevent tooth loss with root canal therapy; should you need to replace a single tooth or several teeth, we offer a number of tooth replacement techniques to make sure you get the one that fits your mouth and your lifestyle. With CEREC one-visit crowns, you get tooth repair, comfort, function, convenience, and beauty in a single rehabilitative treatment.

TMJ – Temporomandibular Joint Disorder

In addressing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, Dr. Adam Nischwitz and our team at Cobalt Dental typically take a comprehensive approach to relieve pain and enhance jaw function. Initially, we explore non-invasive methods, encouraging lifestyle adjustments such as minimizing excessive jaw movements, adopting a softer diet, and integrating stress-reduction techniques. Our team often incorporates physical therapy, incorporating exercises designed to strengthen jaw muscles and enhance joint mobility. We may recommend oral appliances like splints or mouthguards to alleviate pressure on the jaw joint and address issues like grinding or clenching. Pain management is an integral part of our strategy, utilizing over-the-counter pain medications or muscle relaxants as needed. In more complex cases, we may consider advanced interventions such as corticosteroid or Botox injections, and, if necessary, surgical options. The choice of treatment is tailored to the individual’s symptoms and their underlying causes, emphasizing a collaborative effort between our team, the patient, and any specialists involved to develop an effective and personalized TMJ treatment plan

General Dentistry

You don’t have to wait until your teeth and gums are damaged before visiting the dentist. You can do something about problems before they even start by making regular trips to Cobalt Dental Care that offers a range of preventive family dental care services. Dr. Adam Nischwitz and our team understand that oral health is part of overall health, and a healthy mouth is essential for overall wellness. We help our patients live better lives by looking out for overall oral health to foster total wellness.

Costmetic Dentistry

You can be 100‰ happy with your smile with help from Cobalt Dental Care in Louisville, Kentucky. How? With a variety of cosmetic dentistry treatments, we make it possible for you to overcome any smile imperfections standing between you and your dream smile. From whitening up stained smiles with teeth whitening to straightening crooked smiles beautifully with Invisalign clear braces, Cobalt Dental Care can address whatever aesthetic problem you’re facing to boost your self–confidence.

Dental Implants

At Cobalt Dental we offer complete tooth replacement. There are many things below the tooth happening that you can’t see. Below the gum line, a tooth is held in place by the tooth root by connecting to the jaw bone to hold the crown in place. When you lose a tooth, you lose the root as well, and when you replace just the crown, you’re not replacing a very vital part of the missing tooth. By replacing the root with titanium screws you will experience complete tooth replacement for a healthier, stronger and healthier tooth.

Dental implants are surgically placed in the jaw bone, and then several months are allowed to pass, during which the titanium screw fuses with the bone itself to create strength and stability. Once these roots are securely in place and healing is complete, a dental implant restoration (a porcelain crown that can be attached to the top of the dental implant) will be put in place, and your smile will be back to being fully functional and completely attractive.

Teeth Whitening

Cobalt Dental Care knows that an attractive smile can make a positive difference in your life. Even if your smile isn’t chipped, cracked, or gapped, it’s highly likely that it’s become stained over the years; it’s only natural, as various foods, beverages, and the aging process can all contribute to smile discoloration.

You may be considering over–the–counter teeth whitening bought at the drug store or grocery store, but we encourage you to learn more about professional in–office or take–home teeth whitening. Professional–grade teeth whitening provided by the dentist has been shown to have a greater effect in a shorter amount of time than over–the–counter options. With our in-office and take-home teeth whitening, you can see your smile go from blah to bright – up to eight shades brighter or more, to be exact.

Children’s Dentistry

Cobalt Dental Group is family-friendly and it's our commitment to help our patients experience the highest quality dental care possible and make it fun!

We are dedicated to making your child's visit pleasant and comfortable. We understand the importance of establishing good oral hygiene early in their life. It's our desire to help children develop fun and positive dental habits they can use the rest of their lives.

Porcelain Veneers

The team at Cobalt Dental Care knows that a beautiful smile can be just as important as a healthy one. When you’re happy with your smile’s appearance, you’ll experience greater self–confidence, which can lead to a more satisfying life both personally and professionally. How do we help you experience this boost in self–confidence? We offer a variety of cosmetic dentistry treatments at our dental office, including porcelain veneers for complete smile makeovers.

Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth–shaped shells of porcelain placed over the front of your teeth. With porcelain veneers, we can simply cover up problems like chips, gaps, and crooked teeth. We can modify the shape, shade, and size of the porcelain veneers to perfectly match your smile and bring about the exact changes you desire, this solution is completely comprehensive, and the results look extremely natural.

Laser Periodontal Therapy

Treating periodontal disease with laser technology is the very best that modern dentistry has to offer. The dental laser has been shown to eliminate periodontal infection and stimulate repair of the damaged gum and bone. Treating periodontal infection in this way has been shown to lower risk of developing heart disease, stroke, lowbirth weight babies and possibly even Alzheimer's. Laser periodontal therapy has none of the drawbacks of the older therapies–it’s comfortable, doesn’t cause gum recession and it doesn’t involve drugs or harsh chemicals.

Invisalign

When you think about braces, what do you see? Metal brackets and wires affixed to the front of a teenager’s teeth? That is probably the most common idea of orthodontic treatment, but since the invention of Invisalign clear braces, that isn’t the only option for straightening smiles and fixing orthodontic problems.

Invisalign is an alternative solution for overbite, underbite, crossbite, crowding, and spacing. Why? Adults who didn’t undergo orthodontic treatment in their teens didn’t want to deal with the immature and unattractive look of traditional braces, even though orthodontic treatment would have long–term positive effects for their smiles and their oral health.

Invisalign clear braces (aligners made from smooth and clear plastic) are different. You simply wear an aligner for a few weeks and then switch. Because they’re smooth, the aligners are very comfortable, and there’s no fear of problems like broken braces wires. Also, because they’re clear and flush with the teeth, your smile maintains a completely natural look throughout treatment.

Dentures & Partials

Dentures have been around for a really long time, but that doesn’t mean that this solution for missing teeth isn’t modern; today’s dentures and partials use extremely comfortable and natural–looking materials to make sure that you get completely functional and attractive tooth replacement.

A full denture replaces all of the upper or lower teeth, while a partial denture replaces some teeth and clasps onto remaining teeth for greater stability. Both are removable, which makes for very easy and convenient care.

A denture or partial will be recommended if your oral health won’t support a dental implant or to best fit your budget. We can also provide implant–supported dentures, which brings together the convenience of removable tooth replacement with the stability of dental implants.

Sedation Dentistry

Few people would say that they enjoy trips to the dental office. When you think of visiting your dentist, you may become nervous, anxious, and stressed. You may not believe that your dental care can be comfortable and comforting, but that’s simply not true. By offering sedation dentistry, the team at Cobalt Dental Care makes visits to the dentist far more pleasant than you might have ever imagined possible.

We offer both nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation dentistry so that you can find the level of relaxation that’s right for you. Many patients prefer light sedation with nitrous oxide during treatments like dental cleanings and fillings. Nitrous oxide is a gas delivered through a mask that will give you a feeling of warmth and even euphoria, but you remain completely awake throughout the treatment. The effects wear off quickly. Oral conscious sedation is a pill that you take prior to your dental visit. This oral sedative will give you a deeper sense of relaxation than the feeling you get with nitrous oxide, but you’re still awake with oral conscious sedation dentistry, too. Because the effects are stronger than the effects of nitrous oxide, you will want to have a friend or family member drive you to and from your appointment. Patients with dental anxiety, those who need long procedures or several procedures at once, and anyone who finds it uncomfortable to sit in the dental chair will appreciate oral conscious sedation dentistry.

So instead of avoiding the dentist, Contact your friends at Cobalt Dental Care for an more relaxing way to deal with your fears.
